About Carol

Carol has a BSc (Hons) in Biology and Physical Sciences (Biology, Physics and Chemistry). Her mainstream career for some 28 years has been in Information Technology. She is a Charter Member of the British Computer Society. All of these are fairly analytical and "right brain".

As her personal life went through its ups and downs (the trials of IVF; living with an alcholic; two marriage break ups ...) gradually Carol also found fascination with the less predictable/tangible/rigid sides of life, the amazing synchronicities that can happen; the wonderful guidance your heart/intuition can provide in the most bizarre of circumstances alongside the learned skills.

In 2004 Carol took voluntary redundancy and went freelance in order to have space to enjoy life exploring new things.

Andean Shamanism

A chance conversation with a friend led Carol to read Alberto Villoldo's book "Shaman, Healer,Sage". This opened up a new world to Carol and she very soon  began her training with Alberto's Four Winds school.

A trip to Peru was one of those "light bulb coming on" experiences for her. She loved it from the start and said her logical mind struggled for quite a while to accept that the many weird and wonderful experiences were actually happening! The course was very professionally run in a businesslike manner and allowed Carol to integrate her practical skills with the newly discovered intuitive abilities.

Since completing the Healing the Light body course, Carol has taken a number of master classes with The Four Winds and completed their Sage Programme.

In addition, she has continued to broaden her knowledge through courses with Jose Luis HerreraCarla Fox and Stephen Victor in various other components of Andean Shamanism and other related techniques.

Homeopathy

Carol first started using homeopathy in the 1980s, purchasing remedies from the chemist after looking up ailments in a little booklet. Her success led her to also get her animals treated homeopathically.

After taking year one of her Homeopathic training at the Midlands College of Homeopathy, she changed to the Lakeland College of Homeopathy for the rest of the course in order to get help to integrate shamanic practice with the homeopathy. This college already had shamanic practitioners amongst the teaching staff.

Now Carol is a registered homeopath with the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths (under her previous surname - Bowler currently) and attends post graduate courses to continue her professional development.

A particular passion for the Alaskan Essences sprang up along the way as well.

Carol's enthusiasm for these therapies is high because, she says "I know they work" and she spends a lot of her spare time broadening her knowledge and skills.

She sees the aim of healing is to achieve as good a state of peacefulness/contentment within and with oneself as is possible, whether it be relief from physical ailments or old life patterns that no longer serve us.

  Home Life

At home, Carol lives with her husband, Chris, and two dogs.

Amongst other things they especially enjoy classic car rallies in their Lancia Fulvia; sailing holidays; and exploring the UK with the dogs.
